Course Description
An introductory-level insurance billing course centering on the medical office. Presents the coding systems used in conjunction with the ICD-9CM and the CPT manual. Also discusses how information is used to process health insurance claims for BCBS, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Commercial, and Workers Compensation.

ENG-081 or ENG-082 with a C grade or better or satisfactory score on English placement exam; MATH-0774 or MATH-074 or MATH-077 with a C grade
or better or a satisfactory grade on the Math placement exam; AH-100 with a C or higher; Health Careers Typing Test score of 45+ words per min. or BCA-101 with a B or better.
