Description

Allows individuals to explore a wide range of science and math courses before transferring to a four-year academic institution to complete a bachelor's degree.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a knowledge base in general science.
  2. Convey scientific explanations using proper written and verbal English.
  3. Compare and contrast scientific processes with opinion and belief systems.
  4. Conduct an experiment: analyze and interpret results, orally or in written format, either individually or in a team setting while displaying courtesy and professionalism in behavior and attitude.
  5. Practice safe laboratory techniques.
  6. Interpret figures displaying scientific concepts.
  7. Create and interpret graphs using real data, including outliers, and relating the graphs to the original questions and hypotheses.
  8. Differentiate between patterns of data showing correlation versus cause and effect.
  9. Present experimental results, orally or in written format, either individually or in a team setting.
  10. Apply scientific concepts and principles in the analysis of complex processes.
Career Opportunities

The nature of this program is to serve as a transfer degree into a 4-year or longer degree at another college or university.
