Program Description
Description
Emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of environmental problem-solving at the local, regional, and international levels. Students completing this program can transfer to bachelor programs in four broad areas: land resources, nature studies, resource and policy management, and urban service.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate proficiency in designing an experiment in the lab settings and in the field and conducting experiment, collecting data, analyzing, interpreting and presenting results individually and in a team setting.
- Recognize different ecosystems, the components of ecosystems and explain the relationships among them.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Earth’s weather and climate and the forces that influence them.
- Explain geological processes that affect the earth.
- Show proficiency in the use of basic laboratory and field equipment and basic knowledge of safe lab procedures.
- Write formal reports using a standard format.
- Interpret topographic maps.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge on unsustainable use of resources by humans and subsequent harmful impacts on environment especially environmental pollution.
