Introduces traditional sources of energy and provides an overview of the various forms of energy and their applications. Covers alternative, renewable, and traditional non-renewable sources of energy with consideration for energy conservation and use and energy transmission systems.

  1. Introduction to Energy Technologies
    • Describe various energy sources and the basics of force, work and power
  2. Renewable and Inexhaustible Energy Sources
    • Describe Solar, thermal, solar voltaic, geothermal, wind, biomass, generation, and power co generation
  3. Non Renewable Energy Sources
    • Describe Fossil Fuels, Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Nuclear Energy
  4. Energy, Power, and the Environment
    • Compare various energy technologies from an environmental and economic standpoint
  5. Energy and Power conversions as applied in Building Technologies and Industrial Technology Programs (DOE-EERE)
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the US and SI systems of measurement and convert from one system to another
