This course explores various types of knowledge that is needed and used in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) systems that are installed in the HVACR field. Topics include Human Comfort, System Selection, Heat Transfer, the Basic Refrigeration Cycle, System Components, Electrical Components, Installation Guidelines, Reading Electrical Schematics, Troubleshooting Electric Circuits and System Performance Checks. As a result of this class, students will learn about the skills needed to Install, Maintain, Service and Troubleshoot Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps in this class. This course helps to prepare students to take the NATE Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Certification Exam based on ACCA, NATE and RSES information.
