Introduces OSHA and the OSHA regulations that apply to the auto manufacturing industry.
Goals, Topics, and Objectives
Goal Statement
To provide students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Trade & Apprentice Education, utilizing digital learning materials and hands-on labs.
Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Describe Introduction to OSHA and Hazard Identification.
- Inspect personal protective equipment.
- Use a ladder and walkway safely.
- Identify types of fires.
- Identify proper machine guardings.
- Complete a lockout/tagout procedure.
- Select the proper PPE based on the shock hazard, and arc flash/blast categories.
- Complete a multi placard lockout procedure.
- Identify hazard communication display and documentation with OSHA guidelines as well as requirements of hazardous communication charts.
- Complete welding and cutting permits and documentation.
- Explain the difference between confined space permit and non-permit required documentation.
- Explain material handling truck, personal, and work surroundings and applications.
