Introduces OSHA and the OSHA regulations that apply to the auto manufacturing industry.

Goals, Topics, and Objectives

Goal Statement

To provide students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Trade & Apprentice Education, utilizing digital learning materials and hands-on labs.

Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Describe Introduction to OSHA and Hazard Identification.
  2. Inspect personal protective equipment.
  3. Use a ladder and walkway safely.
  4. Identify types of fires.
  5. Identify proper machine guardings.
  6. Complete a lockout/tagout procedure.
  7. Select the proper PPE based on the shock hazard, and arc flash/blast categories.
  8. Complete a multi placard lockout procedure.
  9. Identify hazard communication display and documentation with OSHA guidelines as well as requirements of hazardous communication charts.
  10. Complete welding and cutting permits and documentation.
  11. Explain the difference between confined space permit and non-permit required documentation.
  12. Explain material handling truck, personal, and work surroundings and applications.
