Introduces types and functions of couplings used in industrial power transmissions, including how to install, align, and maintain shaft couplings.

Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Identify different types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for eyes and ears. 2. Install a coupling system. 3. Describe three preventative maintenance steps for couplings. 4. Align a coupling using a straight edge and a feeler gage. 5. Demonstrate shaft alignment of two shafts using reverse dial indicators. 6. Troubleshoot a coupling system*.
