Provides an overview of the technology found in the integrated systems of today’s manufacturing facilities. Examines the symbols, functions, and circuits associated with fluid power, electrical, mechanical, control, and communications found in modern integrated systems.

Goal Statement
To provide students the opportunity to learn basic fluid power, electrical and PLC, components symbols and functions.

- Common fluid power component
- Common electrical components
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Input and Output PLC modules
Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)
- Visually examine an integrated system and identify all fluid power actuators and control elements for troubleshooting activities.
- Visually examine an integrated system and identify all electrical actuators and positional feedback devices for troubleshooting activities.
- Visually examine an integrated system and identify the PLC elements and communication components for troubleshooting activities.
- Visually examine an integrated system and locate all Input/output connections to the (PLC) elements for troubleshooting activities.*
