Catalog Course Description
Presents advanced-level ballet concepts via more complex and challenging adagio and allegro combinations, as well as excerpts from the classical ballet repertory. Also covers career opportunities in dance, and examines an abbreviated historical perspective of the classical excerpts offered.

To be able to correctly identify and execute advanced Ballet and selected excerpts from the classical ballet repertory.

- Identify advanced Ballet movement vocabulary from a demonstration.
- Turns
- Execute advanced turns.
- Technique & Musicality in Phrases and Repertory Excerpts
- Execute precise technique and musicality with advanced phrases and selected classical repertory.
- Epaulement & Performance
- Analyze choreographer's intention and demonstrate artistry through that interpretation.*

- List and explain dance career options.
- Choreographers of Classical Ballet
- Explain a dancer or choreographer's philosophy; and list and describe some of their work.

- Written exam: movement identification.
- Written exam: demonstrate skill/technique in turning.
- Movement exam: demonstrate skill, technique and musicality of given movement vocabulary and repertory.
- Movement exam: demonstrate artistic interpretation and performance presence.
- Written exam: Identifying and explaining knowledge of dance careers.
- Oral, written and video presentation of selected Ballet artist's philosophy and work.
