Provides a structural clinical experience in the hospital and field environments where designated tasks in specific topic areas must be completed. This set of clinical rotations emphasizes airway management skills in the operating room and in the field; global cardiac patient management in the cardiac cath. lab; and neurological assessments and trauma patient management in a variety of clinical settings.
NOTE: Due to the nature of this course, a student must have completed the Health Careers medical packet, drug screen, and criminal background clearance as required, and provide current ongoing proof of health insurance prior to attending advanced-level clinical.

Assessment and Requirements
The curriculum is primarily evaluated on the mastery of skills. Students may demonstrate competency in less than the recommended hours or may need additional clinical/field experiences. Initial course hours MUST be completed during the scheduled semester or the student will not be allowed to continue on in the advanced level training. All course competencies MUST be successfully completed in order to graduate from the paramedic program. Documentation must be accurately submitted in a designated amount of time. Late work could result in the failure of this course.
In addition to the skill mastery assessments, all course participants must demonstrate professional attributes at all times or disciplinary actions will take place, which may include removal from the program.
SBL is required for successful completion of this course. This is defined as 8 hours total approved service hours.
All course participants must be able to physically, complete tasks associated with the performance-based assessments. See the clinical handbook for specifics.

This course is web-based for data entry and all students must have regular access to an internet capable computer
