Includes the fundamental, intermediate, and advanced skills of bowling with a comprehensive discussion and implementation of the rules, etiquette, and terminology of the game.
Goals, Topics, and Objectives
Goal Statement
HPEA Bowling II is a sequential course designed to teach intermediate and advanced skills of bowling. The student will be given an opportunity to raise his/her average through skill analysis, refinement, and concentrated practice.
Core Course Topics
- Refinement of basic, intermediate, and advanced skills
- Scoring (keeping marks, averages, handicapping)
- Bowling etiquette
Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)
- Explain the origins and development of bowling.
- Perform proper skills: (Delivery, footwork, release, etc.)
- Demonstrate how to correctly score a game of bowling.
- Describe the basic etiquette of the game.
- Describe of the components of physical fitness and the importance of learning life-time sport skills.
- Lead a team through tournament competition.
- Analyze technique of successful bowlers.
