Catalog Course Description
Introduces the basic concepts and skills of film and video production. The entire production process from script to editing is discussed and experienced with emphasis on key equipment and techniques. Differences between media are assessed and analyzed. Projects include individual and group work, both in the studio and on location.

- Reconstruct a script using basic script requirements
- Explain the principles of the video camera and its professional use
- Assess appropriate lighting scenarios for specific shoots
- Discuss the essential elements of the various jobs on the production team, for both location and studio assignments
- Organize and execute at least one short video production
- Explain and demonstrate the basic principles of creative editing
- Analyze the industry through current trends and assess the various jobs in the field
- Critique the role of mass media as it relates to film and video standards, current trends and ethical/moral issues
