Provides field experience based on the availability of equipment systems and field-oriented workstations as selected or determined by the instructor. Course may be repeated when different topics are available. Course may be used towards fulfilling requirements for associate degree or certificate programs or to qualify to take license exams.

* Demonstrate safe and successful operation of equipment and systems found in power, process, and facilities "live" operating plants. * The learner will (in consultation with the course instructor, the lab instructor and/or field coordinator and/or on-site proctor, preceptor, or supervisor) complete the required activities at the selected or assigned field or lab work station.*

Assessment and Requirements

Assessment of Academic Achievement
The instructor, mentor, supervisor, preceptor, or facilitator will accomplish practical assessment. Standards for achievement are based on the National Standards. Hands-on demonstration of proficiency is required. Evaluation will also take the form of facilitator assessment as well as team assessment if appropriate.
