Catalog Course Description

Allows student nurse or registered nurse in the community to undertake an area of study to increase depth and understanding in specific, assigned areas. Critically examines topics appropriate to trends and issues in today's nursing profession and the health care delivery system. Clinical placement to increase the competency necessary for functioning at optimal level as a student nurse or as a graduate nurse can occur, as appropriate. Theory hours and clinical placement hours are arranged with the instructor, as appropriate.

Assessment and Requirements

Assessment of Academic Achievement
Students will demonstrate theoretical knowledge learned in this course by achieving success on individual objectives. They must receive a cumulative score of 80% or greater on a theory project to pass this course. A pass/fail score for the course is used for both theory and clinical component.
General Course Requirements and Recommendations

Nursing students and registered nurses may take this course. Required and/or recommended textbooks would be chosen according to the intended project.
