Catalog Course Description

Introduces imaging procedures for external and internal ocular structures, including slit lamp and fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography, and other relevant imaging techniques.

Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)
  1. Describe the function and components of 35 mm and digital camera systems and image acquisition equipment.
  2. Explain patient preparation for selected imaging modalities.
  3. Describe techniques of ocular image production.
  4. Recognize possible complications of intravenous dyes.
  5. Identify phases of circulation in fluorescein angiography.
  6. Recognize sources of imaging artifacts.
  7. Select appropriate scanning and data analysis protocols for the ocular condition.
