Catalog Course Description
Introduces students to the computer technology used in a legal setting. Examines various software applications used by paralegals when assisting a lawyer who is preparing for trial or is litigating. This course addresses ethical considerations in the use of computer technology in the law.

- Word Processing and Document Assembly
- Demonstrate an ability to draft, edit, and print short legal documents using a word processor and document assembly software.
- Spreadsheets
- Demonstrate an ability to develop short spreadsheets used in the legal environment.
- Timekeeping and Billing
- Explain the importance of timekeeping and billing.
- Demonstrate billing time.
- Document Transmission
- Explain the importance of security and confidentiality of electronically transmitting legal documents and information.
- Demonstrate transmitting documents and information using computer programs or the cloud.
- Case Management
- Demonstrate an ability to use case management and docket programs.
