Catalog Course Description

Provides a comprehensive review designed to prepare radiologic technology students for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination. An orderly review based on the ARRT radiography content specifications is presented. Test preparation and test-taking strategies are also discussed.

Upon the successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Complete a thorough review of the following: patient care, safety, image production, and procedures.
  2. State the content specifications of the ARRT Certification examination.
  3. Explain the testing format used by the ARRT.
  4. Discuss the importance of the ARRT exam and professional certification.
  5. Discuss basic test preparation and test taking strategies.
  6. Pass a timed mock registry exam with a score of 80%.
  7. Assess student ARRT content category strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the ARRT exam.

Assessment of Academic Achievement

Assessment of academic achievement will include a combination of tests, quizzes, assignments, presentations and participation.

General Course Requirements and Recommendations

Students must pass the exit exam given in this course with an 80% before they will be allowed to graduate from the radiographer program.
