Catalog Course Description
Explains the development of the proper procedures for the sizing, selection, and installation of pipe and fittings. Includes the development of pipe welding templates and bending of tubing and pipe.

- Orientation, course review, math refresher, and piping pointers.
- Pipe measuring methods, fitting take-off.
- 45-degree offsets, overview of piping systems.
- Threading pipe and metallic piping materials in a pipe threading lab.
- Nonmetallic piping.
- Tubing, metallic, and nonmetallic in a tubing lab.
- Hoses.
- Pipe fittings in a copper soldering lab.
- Common valves, design, and application.
- Special valves, design, and application in a valve repack lab.
- Strainers, filters, and traps in a PVC pipe lab.
- Piping accessories.
- Cross connection control and backflow prevention.

Assessment and Requirements
Assessment of Academic Achievement
All students will be required to complete a comprehensive final examination that assesses the learning of all course objectives. This exam must be weighted in a manner so that this exam score is worth a minimum of fifteen percent of the final course grade. This exam is to be a common exam administered to all sections of TAPP 100.
