Catalog Course Description

Explores how to develop and refine intermediate and advanced improvisational acting skills in the areas of characterization, vocal styles, genre practice, and multi-scene improvisation.

Goals, Topics, and Objectives

Core Course Topics
  1. Improvisational Character Creation.

    Demonstrate effective improvisational acting at the intermediate-level.
    Demonstrate effective character development techniques at the intermediate-level.

  2. Improvisational Scene Development.

    Apply scene development skills at the intermediate-level.

  3. Multi-Scene Improvisations.

    Apply multi-scene improvisational techniques at the intermediate-level.

  4. Multi-Character Improvisations.

    Demonstrate multi-character-scene improvisational techniques at the intermediate-level.

  5. Character Antithesis.

    Demonstrate how to find antithesis in character.

  6. Sense and Emotion Memory.

    Integrate sense and emotion memory into character at the intermediate-level.

  7. Written Improvisations.

    Create a written series of improvisations for a live performance at the intermediate-level.
