Course Description
Applies the principles of mechanics and mechanics of materials to machine design. Analyzes the elements of machines in terms of their static and dynamic behavior. Discusses selection and sizing of machine elements. The finite element technique for the analysis of machines and their counterparts may be used.

Suggestion: Successful candidate has/had worked in design department of any industry. Instructor can examine skills of candidate through a short project for sizing of machine elements and finite element analysis. After successful completion of project, instructor may grant Credit for Prior College-Level Learning.
