This course focuses on building enclosure and performance with reference to finish systems, geographic location, cost, and proper installation techniques. Topics include reading and evaluating blueprints, and working with traditional hand and power tools. Lab activities examine residential and commercial enclosure systems, including insulation, interior and exterior finishes, weather barriers, doors, windows and flashing. Emphasis will be placed on building performance and sustainability.
Credit for Prior College-Level Learning
Interview, given in department by department faculty. Faculty will interview applicants based on submitted portfolio and will assess against evaluation rubric. Evaluation rubric and student checklist located in The School of Business, Entrepreneurship, & Professional Development office.
