Examines the fundamental, intermediate, and advanced skills of bowling with a comprehensive discussion and implementation of the rules, etiquette, and terminology of the game.

Goals, Topics, and Objectives

Goal Statement

HPEA Bowling I is a sequential course designed to teach beginner and intermediate skills of bowling. The student will be given an opportunity to raise his/her average through skill analysis, refinement, and concentrated practice.

  1. History and development of bowling.
  2. Refinement of basic and intermediate skills, delivery, footwork, and release.
  3. Scoring (keeping marks, averages, and handicapping).
  4. Class tournaments and games.
  5. Proper bowling etiquette.
  6. Components of fitness and evaluation.

  2. Analyze and perform proper skills: delivery, footwork, and release.
