Explores and/or takes advantage of selected topics, available certifications, available licensing and direct completion/application of available programs through DOE-EERE and similar organizations as determined by the academic department and the instructor. Emphasizes current power, process and industrial-commercial energy field trends and requirements. Specific special topics may be announced together with the prerequisites for each term. The course can be repeated when different topics are offered allowing students to earn credit for each different topic.

Assessment and Requirements

Assessment of Academic Achievement

All students will be required to complete a comprehensive final examination that assesses the learning of course objectives. This exam must be weighted in a manner so that this exam score is worth a minimum of fifteen percent of the final course grade. All additional assessment of student achievement is left to instructor discretion.

General Course Requirements and Recommendations

To be determined by the instructor. Detailed course syllabi for each section of PEFT 298 must be approved by the Industrial Technology Division prior to the course being offered. A copy of the specific course syllabus will be presented to the College Council by the Associate Dean, "For Information Only," at the first meeting after the beginning of the term the course is offered.

This course is identified as a departmental course for which a learner can receive college credit for prior college-level learning and/or skills acquired outside the traditional classroom. Terms of the HFC Credit for Prior College-Level Learning Policy may be met by review of the appropriate documentation, skill, certifications, and/or knowledge acquired by the learner and submitted for evaluation by the appropriate departmental faculty. As required, one or more of the following may be considered in the evaluation process:
