Introduces basic principles, skills, and terminology of mechanical transmissions. Uses LABVOLT simulator to demonstrate hands-on methods through a project-based approach. The purpose of this course is to explore various fundamental techniques of mechanical transmissions that are similar to industry method of operations.

  • Identify appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and demonstrate proper safety protocol when using mechanical equipment.
  • Define mechanical transmission.
  • Using LABVOLT Simulator, demonstrate how to set up both a chain drive and belt drive.
  • Using LABVOLT Simulator, demonstrate how to set up a motor – connect sprockets with chain or belt drive and align or set tension.
