Catalog Course Description

Explores the principles of motion capture performance and motion capture production for use in virtual theatricality, motion pictures, gaming, television, World Wide Web media, and motion capture studies. Conducted in a lab setting, coursework focuses on cleaning and editing data, hand capture, and facial capture.

Core Course Learning Objectives (Separated)
  • Demonstrate how to properly clean Marker Data.*
  • Demonstrate how to edit Marker Data.*
  • Illustrate how to properly place and set Facial and Hand Markers.
  • Illustrate how to capture Hand and Facial Data.
  • Create a facial Motion Capture animation of two (2) minutes in length using at least 10 blendshapes mapped to a character in Motion Builder.*
  • Create a body, hands, and face Motion capture of at least two (2) minutes in length mapped to a character in Motion Builder.*
  • Create an animation of a least two (2) minutes in length using both flexible and non-flexible props mapped to objects and a character, respectively, in MotionBuilder.*
