Course Description

Covers the fundamentals of electrical ladder diagrams and motor control circuits. Presents ladder logic, as well as labels, documentation, and symbology of electrical drawing with the use of ladder diagrams for troubleshooting. Also discusses control circuits for three-phase motors and sequential control of electro-pneumatic devices. Several single-phase control circuits are included in laboratory exercises. Also included in the lab exercises are sequencing electro-pneumatic devices. Introduces students to the variable frequency drive to control three phase motor speed. Students connect more than 40 circuits in the lab.
