Effective with the Spring 1997 semester, the Mathematics Division will grant credit by examination for Math 100 under the following conditions:

  1. Eligibility will be limited to graduates from high school programs that fulfill the conditions as stated in the Career Technical Articulation Agreements signed by the College President.
  2. A student must petition the Mathematics Division for credit by examination within the first fifteen (15) months after graduation from high school.
  3. This examination will be developed by the Mathematics Division and will measure a student's mastery of the course content as listed in the most recent Math 100 course master approved by the Mathematics Division.
  4. A student will have only one opportunity to take this examination, and a minimum score of 70% will be required for the granting of credit.
  5. Credit will not be granted unless the student subsequently passes Math 103 with a grade of "C" or better. Initial enrollment in Math 103 must take place within fifteen (15) months of the successful completion of the Math 100 examination.
  6. It is the responsibility of the student to petition the Mathematics Division in writing for the final granting of credit in Math 100.
  7. The Mathematics Associate Dean will notify the College Registrar when all conditions for receiving credit are satisfied. The student transcript will record a grade of TR for Math 100, and this grade will be treated in the same fashion as any credit transferred in from another college or university.
