Course Description
Introduces the fundamentals of solid-state components found in electronic circuits. Topics include solid state diodes, field effect transistors (FET), silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs), insulated gate bi-polar transistors (IGBTs), buck and boost converters, and bipolar transistors. Discusses characteristics of these components and some basic circuits in which they are commonly used. Utilizes a software program to simulate various electronic circuits. Circuits are constructed in lab using these components. Extensive laboratory activities.
