Course Description
Covers skills needed to function effectively as power or process plant engineers operating and maintaining primarily turbines, engines, power plant electrical, air compressors, industrial-commercial cooling systems, advanced control systems, and related equipment. Provides exposure to activities that duplicate skills in the workplace which meet the requirements of various national standards and license exams. May require plant visits as part of course work. Note: suggested co-requisite of MFMT 114 and/or MFMT 143.

This course is identified as a departmental course for which a learner can receive college credit for prior college-level learning and/or skills acquired outside the traditional classroom. Terms of the HFCC Credit for Prior College-Level Learning Policy may be met by review of the appropriate documentation, skill, certifications, and/or knowledge acquired by the learner and submitted for evaluation by the appropriate departmental faculty. As required, one or more of the following may be considered in the evaluation process:
A. field experience
B. licenses held
C. completing course exams and/or

E. competing a portfolio.
