Program Description

Description

Provides students with the opportunity to assemble, install, alter, and repair pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, hydraulic fluid or other liquids/ gases. Includes sprinkler fitters.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

  1. Verify dimensions, alignment and proper joining methods are used in the construction and installation of new piping/plumbing.
  2. Inspect and test piping to verify conformance to codes
  3. Plan, layout and installation of plumbing/piping based on job specifications and local codes.
  4. Inspect piping components to identify hazards, defects or the need for maintenance or adjustment.
