Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Compare structure and function of the human body across the life span.

Describe the infection cycle including: The infectious agent, Reservoir, Susceptible host, Means of transmission, Portals of entry, Portals of exit.

Identify methods of controlling the growth of microorganisms.

Define the principles of standard precautions.

Define personal protective equipment (PPE) for: All body fluids, secretions, and excretions, Blood, Non-intact skin, Mucous membranes.

Measure and record: Height, Weight, Length (infant), Head circumference (infant), Pulse oximetry.

Perform pulmonary function testing.

Perform patient screening using established protocols.
