Assessment of Academic Achievement

The emphasis in this course will be on individual learning experience which will include active student participation in classroom and laboratory activities, A cooperative rather than a competitive learning atmosphere is encouraged. Students are expected to attend all classroom and laboratory sessions. Assessment of academic achievement will be determined using a combination of learning activities, participation, examinations, and the final exam.

Grading Scale

The grading scale is:

A+ = 99-100%
A = 94-98%
A- = 90-93%
B+ = 87-89%
B = 83-86%
B- = 80-82%
C+ = 76-79%
C = 70-75%
D+ = 65-69%
D = 60-64%
E = 59% and below

All medical assistant students will be required to follow national accreditation guidelines and pass 100% of all psychomotor and affective competencies and pass the cognitive domain at a minimum of 85% to pass the class and move forward to course.
