Program Description
Description
Enables students to become knowledgeable in basic mechanical engineering pathway by practicing engineering design process, various engineering computation tools (Excel, MATLAB, and Python), and structural design concepts. Course works include engineering classes in the first two years of a mechanical engineering or a mechanical engineering technology program.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Develop knowledge of career opportunities and demonstrate the requisite entry level of a mechanical engineering assistant.
- Utilize engineering design process in search for solutions to real-world engineering problems.
- Work in teams to formulate a complex engineering problem into a system of mathematical equations and use computational tools to find solutions.
- Explain basic concepts and principles of statics with applications to Newton's Laws of Motion to engineering problems.
