Program Description

Description

The Pre-Engineering: Electrical/Computer program enables students to complete the courses in the first two and half years of the Bachelor of Science program in Electrical/Computer Engineering. The program is a pathway to the University of Michigan - Dearborn, Wayne State University, and Eastern Michigan University. Students take physics, math, chemistry, general education, and program-specific courses required by the electrical engineering programs at these 4-year schools. Upon successful completion of the program, students can transfer to complete their final years of electrical engineering. The HFC articulation agreements with the University of Michigan - Dearborn, Wayne State University, and Eastern Michigan University make the transfer process easier.

NOTE: We recommend students meet with the Engineering Faculty Advisor or Student Success Navigators for assistance with registering for the correct series of courses. We recommend students apply to graduate from the Pre-Engineering: General program.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

  1. Describe the introductory concepts of physical sciences (chemistry and physics).
  2. Demonstrate the ability to work in teams to solve introductory engineering and math problems.
  3. Define the roles of electrical/computer engineers and decide his/her pathway.

General Education

We recommend taking PHIL-139 as one of your humanities if you are planning to transfer to Wayne State University.
