Assessment of Academic Achievement

Assessment of academic achievement will be determined using a combination of learning activities, participation, unit tests and final examination.

General Course Requirements and Recommendations

Emphasis will be on individual learning experiences which will include active participation of students in classroom activities. A cooperative rather than a competitive atmosphere is encouraged. Students are responsible for making arrangements in advance of an absence with a classmate to obtain any missed work. This course will consist of specific units of study. Each student is responsible for completion of all the required (*) learning competencies. Students must be present for the final examination.

Grading Scale

The grading scale is:

  • 99-100% = A+

  • 94-98% = A

  • 90-93% = A-

  • 87-89% = B+

  • 83-86% = B

  • 80-82% = B-

  • 76-79% = C+

  • 70-75% = C

  • 65-69% = D+

  • 60-64% = D

  • 59% and below = E

All medical assistant students will be required to follow national accreditation guidelines and pass 100% of all psychomotor and affective competencies, and pass the cognitive domain at a minimum of 85% to pass the class, and move forward to MOA-150.
