Program Description
The Engineering Pathway: Mechanical/Electrical program addresses the science, mathematics, general education, and specialized technology courses required by the Bachelor Degree of Engineering Technology at Wayne State University (WSU). It is designed to help students with a background in technology take additional required courses before transferring to WSU. Upon successful completion of this pathway program, students can transfer to Wayne State University to complete their final year in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Describe the introductory concepts of college physical sciences (chemistry and physics).
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team to solve introductory technology and math problems.
- Define the roles of mechanical/electrical engineering technologists and decide his/her pathway.
After completion of this program and transfer to and completion of the 4-year institution Bachelor of Science degree, students can specialize in fields such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Admission Requirements
In order to be admitted to this program, students are required to have successfully completed at least 15.0 credits in ACT, AUTO, CIMMT, CIMTA, CIMWD, CIS, DRAF, ELEC, ENGR, ENT, MFMT, MTT, PEFT, PLMB, REEN, TADV, TAEL, TAFD, TAFP, TAGD, TAIM, TAMA, TAMJ, TAMU TAMT, TAPI, TAPP, TAPT, or TASM. Approval by a counselor, an advisor, a student success navigator, or a faculty chair is required.
