Description

The Associate of Civil Technology Program is a hands on, lab based program, designed to give students skills and knowledge necessary to work as civil engineering technicians in areas involving drafting, construction, estimating, and surveying. In this program, students will learn to assist with the design and construction of highways, buildings, and other infrastructures.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

  1. Utilize principles, hardware, and software that are appropriate to produce drawings, reports, quantity estimates, and other documents related to design and construction.
  2. Perform economic analyses and cost estimates related to design, construction, operations and maintenance of systems associated with civil technology.
  3. Select appropriate construction related materials and practices.
  4. Perform standard analysis and design related to civil technology.
  5. Utilize surveying methods appropriate for land measurement and/or construction layout.
  6. Conduct standardized field and laboratory tests related to civil engineering.
